Chile Faces Russia in Friendly Match on November 15
SOCHI, Russia — The Chilean national soccer team will take the field on Saturday, November 15, when they face Russia in a friendly match at 12:00 p.m. local time at the Fisht Stadium.
Coached by Nicolás Córdova, the team is looking to rebound from a tough qualification campaign for the 2026 World Cup, where they finished last in their group. This match presents an opportunity to evaluate new talent within the squad.
Midfielder from Colo Colo anticipates a challenging matchup against the home team. “We have seen many videos of the opponent. They have great players and a clear idea of how they play. Tomorrow, we will attempt to play our game and what we have been working on,” he stated in a press conference.
He added, “We will try to be the protagonists and seek the win. We have the players to do it. This group has been working hard for a while now.”
Chile‘s squad includes newcomers such as Darío Osorio and Ben Brereton, who have recently made impressions in their respective clubs. Osorio has gained attention in the Danish Superliga, while Brereton scored in a recent match against Peru.
On the Russian side, Aleksandr Golovin from AS Monaco will be a key player, having recently scored against Peru in a match held in Russia. The last encounter between Chile and Russia ended in a 1-1 draw in June 2017.
Fans can watch the match live on ESPN and Disney+ Premium plan, as both teams aim to build momentum amidst their preparation.
