Coldplay’s Chris Martin Offers Heartwarming Gesture to Fan with Mobility Issues at Radio 1’s Big Weekend
Coldplay‘s front-man Chris Martin touched the hearts of fans at Radio 1's Big Weekend when he offered a heartwarming gesture to a woman with mobility issues, Saundra Glenn, in Luton.
64-year-old Saundra Glenn, who suffers from osteoarthritis and a ‘dodgy right hip’, was left in awe when she was approached by a black Mercedes at the event.
As she walked towards the accessibility box office, Saundra took a moment to rest against a fence, only to be surprised by the unexpected offer for a lift from none other than Chris Martin himself.
Despite her initial reservations, Saundra found herself sitting beside the Yellow singer in the car as they headed towards the artist area, where further transport was arranged for her.
During the journey, Chris Martin shared insights about a BBC Three Counties Radio campaign and surprisingly teased a new track called ‘Orange‘, inspired by Luton, which was performed later that night.
Post the event, Saundra recounted her memorable encounter with Chris Martin, expressing her admiration for his kindness and genuine concern towards disability.
She fondly recalled their chat about Luton and even recommended the local business Chicken George to the musician.
The interaction culminated in a heartwarming moment where Chris assured Saundra, ‘you’re not going anywhere yet’, solidifying their bond through a shared conversation.
Reflecting on her experience at Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Saundra praised Coldplay’s performance and expressed her delight at meeting Chris Martin, labeling the event as ‘The coolest festival’ she had ever attended.
