Cole Palmer became the first player in Premier League history to score four goals in the first half of a match during Chelsea’s 4-2 victory over Brighton at Stamford Bridge. The young forward continued his stellar run with Chelsea, taking his tally to six goals in six games. A notable highlight was his splendid free-kick in the 31st minute.

Chelsea’s performance was far from perfect, having initially conceded an early goal. Brighton capitalized on the home side’s shaky start, with Georginio Rutter netting after a defensive lapse involving Levi Colwill and a miscalculated decision by goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.

Despite Chelsea’s early struggles, Palmer turned the tide when he scored following a defensive error by Brighton’s Adam Webster. Nicolas Jackson intercepted a back-pass, assisting Palmer for a simple tap-in, equalizing the score.

Shortly after, the Blues were awarded a penalty when Jadon Sancho drew a foul. Palmer confidently converted the spot-kick, giving Chelsea the lead. He completed his hat-trick with a superb free-kick before halftime, curling the ball into the top left corner.

Brighton’s Carlos Baleba managed to reduce the deficit with a goal following another Chelsea error, but Palmer responded promptly. Combining with Sancho again, Palmer netted his fourth goal with a formidable strike past Brighton’s goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen.

The second half of the match saw a few missed opportunities for Palmer as he attempted to extend his goal tally. A one-on-one shot went wide, and a later attempt hit the crossbar. Manager Enzo Maresca made strategic substitutions, which helped Chelsea secure their third consecutive league win.
