Chicago Cubs Vs Miami Marlins Baseball Matchup

CHICAGO, IL — The Chicago Cubs are looking to turn around their recent struggles as they face the Miami Marlins tonight at Wrigley Field. After winning only six of their last 14 games, the Cubs aim to bounce back from scoring two or fewer runs in three of their last four games.

This matchup is crucial as the Marlins have lost seven of their last ten, holding a -69 run differential. The Cubs will send their top pitcher, Colin Rea, to the mound, who has an impressive 2.43 ERA this season.

“We need to show up and hit,” said Cubs manager David Ross. Rea has been effective so far this season, with a fWAR of 0.7, which highlights his contributions to the team despite some previous shakiness against stronger lineups.

The Marlins’ offense has struggled, ranking 23rd with a team wRC+ of 91 and tied for the lowest home runs in the league. Right-handed pitcher Cal Quantrill will start for the Marlins, who has a 7.11 ERA this year and has been inconsistent on the mound.

“This could be a great opportunity for us to capitalize,” said Cubs player Pete Crow-Armstrong, who will lead off in place of Ian Happ due to injury.

Others in the lineup include Kyle Tucker and Seiya Suzuki, who are expected to step up as the Cubs look to improve their offensive output. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:40 PM CT and will be broadcast on Marquee and 670 The Score.
