Demaryius Thomas Inducted into Denver Broncos Ring of Fame

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The late Demaryius Thomas, a Super Bowl 50 champion and five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver, has been elected to the Denver Broncos Ring of Fame in his first year of eligibility, the team announced on Tuesday.
Thomas becomes the 38th member of the Broncos’ Ring of Fame, and he will be posthumously inducted during halftime of the team’s Week 7 game against the Giants on Oct. 19. The occasion will coincide with a celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Broncos’ Super Bowl 50 championship team.
<p"Demaryius Thomas' election to the Denver Broncos Ring of Fame is a testament to the indelible mark he left on our organization and community," said team owners Greg Penner and Carrie Walton Penner in a statement. "One of the most beloved players and greatest wide receivers in franchise history, Demaryius inspired our fans with breathtaking athleticism, record-setting performances and a joyful, infectious spirit. While we wish 'D.T.' was with us to celebrate this special moment, we look forward to honoring Demaryius alongside his Super Bowl 50 teammates during an unforgettable Alumni Weekend."
Thomas passed away unexpectedly in December 2021. He ranks second in franchise history with 9,055 receiving yards and 60 receiving touchdowns, and he holds the Broncos’ single-season record with 1,619 receiving yards. In his nine seasons with the Broncos, he achieved 665 receptions, with three seasons among the franchise’s top five for receiving yards.
Drafted as the 22nd overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft from Georgia Tech, Thomas became a key player in the Broncos’ prolific offense, averaging over 100 receptions and 1,400 receiving yards from 2012 to 2015. He caught a career-high 14 touchdown passes in 2013 and participated in the most wins the team has seen in a four-year period.
Thomas is also remembered for his performance in the playoffs, recording an iconic 80-yard catch-and-run touchdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2011 wild-card round. He ranks first in franchise history in career postseason receptions and is tied for the most postseason receiving touchdowns.
The Broncos Ring of Fame is displayed on the Level 5 facade of Empower Field at Mile High, with each inductee honored with a bronze-and-steel pillar. Thomas will be celebrated with an orange Ring of Fame jacket and a gold Ring of Fame ring during the induction ceremony.
