Ridder’s transition comes after a brief period with the Cardinals, where he was initially acquired as a backup quarterback but later moved on from the active roster. The Cardinals had placed Ridder in concussion protocol earlier in the season, and he was eventually waived.

The addition of Ridder to the Raiders’ roster is part of the team’s adjustments, with Aidan O'Connell being headed to injured reserve. This move indicates the Raiders’ effort to bolster their quarterback depth and prepare for the remainder of the season.
