Douglas Costa Shines as Sydney FC Triumphs Over Eastern SC in AFC Champions League

Sydney FC began their AFC Champions League 2 campaign with an impressive 5-0 victory over Hong Kong’s Eastern SC at Jubilee Stadium. Brazilian international Douglas Costa played a key role in the team’s success, contributing significantly in his debut match. Another standout moment occurred when Costa delivered a short corner to Rhyan Grant just before halftime, allowing Grant to double the score. The Brazilian continued to impact the game significantly, assisting once more as Patryk Klimala set up Ouahim’s second goal.

Eastern SC faced intense pressure throughout the match, leading to own goals by defenders Daniel Almazan and Leung Chun Pong. Despite a few early attempts by Eastern SC, including a notable save by goalkeeper Harrison Devenish-Meares, Sydney FC’s defense remained strong.
