Easter Tennis Tournaments Across Australia Bring Communities Together

Tennis clubs in Australia are gearing up to host numerous players during the upcoming Easter weekend. These tournaments, which have a rich history involving legends such as Ken Rosewall, John Fitzgerald, and Evonne Goolagong-Cawley, have been a traditional part of the Australian tennis landscape for over a century.

Significant milestones are set to be celebrated in March 2024 at various locations across the country. In New South Wales, the Nepean Easter Open will see its 110th edition, a prestigious event that has seen greats like Evonne Goolagong-Cawley and Margaret Court grace its grass courts.

Victoria‘s Mildura Lawn Tennis Club will mark its centenary this year, while the Woodville Orion Tennis Club in South Australia celebrates its 90th year of the competition, showcasing the enduring appeal of these Easter tournaments.

Tom Larner, the Chief Tennis Officer at Tennis Australia, highlighted the significance of these events in bringing communities together with players of all ages and skill levels participating. The commitment and passion displayed by club committees and volunteers play a vital role in the success and longevity of these tournaments.

Across states like Queensland, Tasmania, and Western Australia, various tournaments such as the Mooloolaba Junior Championships, the Tasmanian Easter Championships at Tennis World Launceston, and the Royal Kings Park Easter Tournament in Perth will attract competitive players and enthusiastic spectators looking to witness some gripping tennis action.
