England Announces Squad Changes Due to Injuries for Upcoming Matches
On Monday, October 7, changes were announced to the England football squad ahead of matches against Italy and Czechia. Jobe Bellingham from Sunderland, Ben Nelson from Oxford United, Luke Chambers from Wigan Athletic, and Reuell Walters from Luton Town have been withdrawn from the squad due to undisclosed reasons. In their place, Bradley Hills from Norwich City, Elijah Campbell from Ross County, and Joshua Acheampong from Chelsea have been called up as replacements.
Further changes were made to the squad set to play against Portugal, Netherlands, and France. Zach Abbott from Nottingham Forest has been called up from standby to replace Joshua Acheampong, who has been reassigned. Simultaneously, Shumaira Mheuka from Chelsea was added to replace Ethan Wheatley of Manchester United, who had to withdraw due to an injury.
The adjustments continued as Mheuka’s position in the squad scheduled to face Sweden and either Ukraine or the Netherlands will now be filled by Harrison Armstrong from Everton. Additionally, Jack Fletcher from Manchester United has also stepped down from the MU18s squad, leading to the call-up of Baylee Dipepa from Southampton, who was previously on standby.
These changes reflect the dynamic nature of squad assembly, addressing sudden withdrawals and ensuring team readiness amidst upcoming international fixtures.
