Fairfield County Ohio Snow Emergency Level 3

LANCASTER, OhioFairfield County has declared a level 3 snow emergency as of Monday morning, closing roadways to all non-emergency personnel. Authorities warn that driving is prohibited unless absolutely necessary, and violators may face arrest.

The level 3 designation, the most severe under Ohio’s snow emergency system, means roads are extremely hazardous and only emergency vehicles should be on the streets. Residents are urged to stay home and contact their employers for guidance on reporting to work.

Several neighboring counties have also issued snow emergencies. Hocking and Pickaway counties are under level 3 emergencies, while Perry, Licking, and Franklin counties are at level 2, advising residents to drive only if necessary and with extreme caution.

According to the National Weather Service, Fairfield County is expected to receive less than an inch of snow on Friday, with temperatures dropping to 17 degrees overnight. However, heavier snowfall is forecast for Sunday, with a 100% chance of precipitation and accumulations of 3 to 5 inches. Temperatures will remain in the 20s throughout the day, with a high of 30 degrees and a low of 12 degrees on Monday.

Local officials are urging residents to prepare for prolonged winter conditions.
