Philadelphia Flyers Vs Toronto Maple Leafs 2025

Returning home from a five-game road trip, John Tortorella‘s Philadelphia Flyers (17-18-5) will rematch on Tuesday with Craig Berube‘s Toronto Maple Leafs (26-13-2) at Wells Fargo Center. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. EST, with streaming available on ESPN+ and Hulu, and radio coverage on 97.5 The Fanatic.

On Sunday in Toronto, the Flyers settled for one point in a 3-2 overtime loss. Tyson Foerster and Scott Laughton scored for the Flyers in regulation, while Matthew Knies, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, and Morgan Rielly tallied for the Maple Leafs. Auston Matthews contributed two assists, including the setup for Rielly’s game-winning goal in sudden death.

The Flyers struggled in faceoffs, winning only 33% of the draws, with Sean Couturier being the lone bright spot at 6-for-9. Toronto’s centers, led by Matthews and John Tavares, dominated the circle, winning 67% of the faceoffs.

Defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen had a standout performance, assisting on both Flyers goals and playing a physical game with five credited hits. His 23:10 of ice time was crucial in keeping the Flyers competitive.

Goaltender Ivan Fedotov, making his first start since Dec. 5, stopped 22 of 25 shots, providing a solid performance despite the loss. The Flyers’ power play went 0-for-3, failing to capitalize on key opportunities, including a third-period chance with the game tied.

The Flyers, who are 1-7-2 in their last 10 matchups against the Maple Leafs, will look to bounce back in Tuesday’s rematch. The game will be a critical test for their playoff aspirations as they aim to improve their 17-18-5 record.
