Hamad Medjedovic Daniel Altmaier French Open

PARIS, France — Hamad Medjedovic takes on Daniel Altmaier in the third round of the 2025 French Open on Friday. Medjedovic, who has yet to lose a set in the tournament, won his second-round match against Juan Manuel Cerundolo with scores of 6-3, 6-4, 7-5.

This marks Medjedovic’s first appearance in the third round of a Grand Slam, a notable milestone in his career. Despite only securing one victory in the main draw of a clay tournament previously this season, he has found his rhythm just in time.

Altmaier, on the other hand, is coming off a remarkable first-round victory against world No. 4 Taylor Fritz. He maintained that momentum, overcoming Vit Kopriva in a four-set match, winning 6-2, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5. The German saved an impressive 17 of 19 break points during that match, showcasing his resilience.

The two players have faced each other once in 2025, with Medjedovic winning a tightly contested match 7-5, 6-7, 6-4 in Marseille. However, this upcoming encounter will be their first on clay, and the stakes are higher.

According to their ATP rankings, there are only five spots separating the two players, making this matchup particularly intriguing. While Medjedovic has shown the ability to dominate, Altmaier’s experience on the tour may give him a slight edge.

Betting experts project Medjedovic as the favorite, with a probability of 60% for victory compared to Altmaier’s 40%. The match is set to begin at 10:15 AM ET at Stade Roland Garros.

The clash promises to be one of the highlight matches on the sixth day of the French Open, with both players eager to secure a place in the last 16.
