Hawaii Woman Hannah Kobayashi Missing After Chilling Final Texts at LAX
A 30-year-old woman from Hawaii, Hannah Kobayashi, has gone missing after a series of unsettling texts were sent from her phone while she was en route to New York City. Kobayashi flew from her home in Maui on November 8, intending to arrive in New York City the following day for a ‘bucket list trip’. However, she never boarded her connecting flight from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
Her family, including her mother, Brandi Yee, and sister, Sydni Kobayashi, have been frantically searching for her after she seemingly vanished. The last communication from Hannah was a text to her mother saying, ‘Not yet,’ when asked if she had arrived in New York City. Later texts indicated she had a ‘spiritual awakening’ and was heading back to the airport, but then expressed regret over ‘craziness’ and mentioned being ‘definitely intercepted’.
The texts became increasingly alarming, with one message suggesting she had been tricked into giving away all her funds to someone she thought she loved. Her phone was turned off on November 11 while she was at LAX, and her family has not heard from her since. The family and a friend believe these texts may not have been written by Hannah herself, describing them as ‘really weird’ and not sounding like her.
The Los Angeles Police Department has been contacted, and a missing person’s report has been filed. However, the police have indicated that Hannah is not considered a priority case because she is not elderly, mentally vulnerable, or underage. This means the family must wait 48 hours before further action can be taken.
Brandi Yee has appealed for help, stating, ‘Please help her, if you can. If you know where she’s at, or you have the chance to just help her, please. We just want to bring her home.’ As of now, Hannah’s disappearance remains a mystery.
