Hydro One Prepares For Winter Storm Impacting Ontario

Hydro One crews, damage assessors, and support staff are gearing up to work through blizzard-like conditions forecasted for this weekend as a winter storm approaches Ontario. The storm is expected to bring heavy blowing snow, thundersnow, and potentially damaging winds to parts of central, southern, and eastern Ontario. During power outages, Hydro One aims to respond quickly and safely to restore electricity for its customers.

Chong Kiat Ng, Vice President Distribution at Hydro One, emphasizes the importance of customer preparedness. Customers are encouraged to have their emergency preparedness kits ready in case of blizzard conditions.

Hydro One provides various channels, including online platforms and hotlines, for customers to report outages and access updates.

Given the challenging road and access conditions during winter storms, Hydro One advises customers to ensure they have fully stocked emergency preparedness kits, as it may take time for restoration crews to reach affected areas.

Hydro One recommends keeping an emergency kit in a backpack accessible to everyone in the household. The kit should contain essential items and reflect each household’s specific needs.

Hydro One Limited, listed on the TSX and NYSE, is Ontario’s largest electricity transmission and distribution provider, serving approximately 1.5 million customers.
