India Capitals Clinch Playoff Spot with Victory Over Manipal Tigers
India Capitals secured their spot in the playoffs with a 13-run victory over Manipal Tigers. The match took place at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar, with India Capitals showcasing a potent mix of batting strength and economical bowling.
Manipal Tigers won the toss and opted to field first. Dwayne Smith and Dhruv Jatinbhai Raval set out to open the innings for India Capitals. The pair managed to score a partnership of 36 runs before Raval was dismissed after contributing 17 runs off 11 balls. Smith continued the innings with Iqbal Abdulla but managed to add only 30 runs for the second wicket, scoring 29 off 32 deliveries himself. Abdulla added 8 runs from 9 balls before his departure.
Ben Dunk emerged as the standout performer with a commendable knock of 97 runs off just 47 deliveries. His explosive play significantly bolstered India Capitals to reach a total of 185 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs.
In the bowling department for Manipal Tigers, Asela Gunaratne shone with figures of 3 wickets for 10 runs. Obus Pienaar, Anureet Singh, and Thisara Perera each took a wicket, conceding 26, 39, and 34 runs respectively.
