Inter Milan Vs Ac Milan Derby

Inter Milan legend Beppe Bergomi has attributed the club’s recent defeat in the Derby della Madonnina against AC Milan to a mental lapse. Bergomi, who witnessed the intense local rivalry match, believes the Nerazzurri were favorites going into the game but succumbed due to their mindset.

“Inter have lost the derby in their minds and attitude,” said Bergomi during his appearance on Sky Sport Italia. He criticized the team’s mentality, particularly in the second half, noting that players who came off the bench, such as Davide Frattesi and Piotr Zielinski, struggled to make an impact.

Christian Pulisic opened the scoring for AC Milan, while Inter’s Federico Dimarco equalized with assistance from captain Lautaro Martinez. Despite the comeback, Milan’s Matteo Gabbia secured a late winner for his team.

Bergomi commented on Inter’s tactical adjustments, stating, “Zielinski and Frattesi have different energies. When Inter change their personnel, they start playing differently. Frattesi relies on his runs to the box and not on ball possession.”

Former Inter Milan owner Massimo Moratti also weighed in on the game. Moratti, renowned for his keen eye for talent, focused on the future direction of Inter Milan in light of the defeat.

In an interview with Libero, Moratti advocated for the acquisition of Bologna midfielder Kacper Urbanski, describing him as a “very good” player. Aside from transfer topics, Moratti discussed the unexpected outcome of the derby, acknowledging Milan’s deserving win.

“I consider the match against Milan a useful reminder of how dangerous and unpredictable football is,” he reflected. Despite the loss, Moratti remains optimistic about Inter’s prospects this season, citing their recent performance in Manchester as evidence of their strength.

He highlighted the importance of learning from recent mistakes, suggesting, “The defeat in the derby can help the team understand what went wrong. Inter are still up there. They are very strong and the coach is also very good.”
