Jason Kelce Podcast World Series

PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania — Former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce clarified his recent comments regarding Canadian baseball after facing backlash. In a podcast episode of “New Heights,” which he co-hosts with his brother Travis, Kelce questioned why he should care about a Canadian team in the World Series.

Kelce’s remarks came during a discussion about the World Series featuring the Toronto Blue Jays and the Los Angeles Dodgers. He questioned the excitement around a “Canadian baseball team” competing against a team with the highest payroll in Major League Baseball (MLB).

The comments quickly drew criticism from Canadian baseball fans who felt his remarks were disrespectful. The Dodgers ultimately won the World Series in a dramatic Game 7, solidifying their dominance in the league.

In response to the backlash, Kelce took to social media on Friday to express his surprise. He stated he was “bamboozled” that the podcast’s social media team did not provide the full context of his comments. He humorously added, “How could I not love poutine, maple syrup, and beavers!!” Kelce clarified that his intent was to express a lack of personal investment in the situation.

Travis Kelce, who plays as a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, praised the World Series teams for their effort, calling the seven-game series “absolutely epic.”

In a related story, Prince Harry visited Toronto last week for the World Series. He joked about wearing a Dodgers cap during Game 4 against the Blue Jays. While visiting the Sunnybrook Hospital veterans center, he was gifted a Toronto Blue Jays cap and lightheartedly remarked that he felt “under duress” to wear the Dodgers hat. His visit coincided with the Blue Jays’ loss in Game 7.
