Knicks Snap Losing Streak with 112-98 Win Over Raptors
NEW YORK — Karl-Anthony Towns returned to the lineup with a dominant performance, scoring 27 points and grabbing 13 rebounds, as the New York Knicks snapped a three-game losing streak with a 112-98 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden.
Towns, who missed Monday’s game due to patellar tendinopathy in his right knee, shot 9-for-14 from the field, including a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arc. OG Anunoby added 27 points against his former team, while Josh Hart contributed 21 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists. The Knicks shot 55% from the field and led 55-51 at halftime.
The Raptors, who have lost 14 of their last 15 games, were led by RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley, who scored 16 and 22 points, respectively, in their return to New York. Despite their efforts, Toronto struggled to keep pace with the Knicks, who went on a 15-0 run in the fourth quarter to seal the win.
“We were focused,” said Knicks guard Jalen Brunson, who finished with 13 points. “We were determined to bounce back from the way we did. And we know that it’s unacceptable, and we hold each other accountable when it comes to that.”
Towns emphasized the importance of team execution, saying, “I thought we did a great job of getting turnovers and converting them into points. We got some big rebounds, pushed the pace. I’m just happy we were able to get this win.”
The Knicks improved to 25-13 on the season, while the Raptors fell to 8-29. New York will host the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday, while Toronto travels to Cleveland on Thursday.
