WASHINGTON, D.C. — Kyshawn George of the Washington Wizards has been cleared to play in Monday’s game against the San Antonio Spurs following a minor ankle injury that kept him sidelined for one game.
George was initially listed as questionable but has received medical clearance to resume play. His return comes at a critical time, with teammate Khris Middleton still recovering and unable to make his season debut.
In his last eight starts for Washington, George averaged 9.4 points and 4.4 rebounds over 26.5 minutes per game. Despite a recent ankle issue, he demonstrated resilience on the court, finishing strong in the games prior to his injury.
“It feels good to be back on the court, especially with the ups and downs this season,” George said. “I’m ready to help the team however I can, especially against a tough opponent like the Spurs.”
Before missing the game, George had recorded 13.3 points per game in the three outings leading up to the injury. This season, he has played in 46 games, amassing an average of 7.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.2 assists, while maintaining a shooting percentage of 36.3% from the field and 30.8% from beyond the arc.
The Wizards’ offensive production appears closely linked to George’s performance. The team averages 107.9 points per game with him on the court, compared to 107.6 points without him. As a starter, he has averaged 10.1 points per game versus 6.7 points when coming off the bench. George’s ability to contribute in rebounds and assists has also been notable, finishing in the top five for both categories multiple times during the season.
George’s availability provides a significant boost to the Wizards as they prepare for the matchup against the Spurs on Monday. Fans and fantasy managers alike are eager to see how his return will impact the team’s performance.
