Lane Hutson shines in training with Montreal Canadiens
Lane Hutson, the newest member of the Montreal Canadiens, made a strong impression during a training session ahead of his first NHL game. In a friendly competition between the red and white team, Hutson was chosen to break the tie in a shootout and confidently scored, leading his team to victory.
Teammate Cole Caufield jokingly remarked on Hutson’s skillful move, highlighting the camaraderie among the players. The Canadiens are making efforts to integrate Hutson into the team, with players like David Savard, Samuel Montembeault, and Rafaël Harvey-Pinard taking him under their wing.
During practice, Hutson paired up with Savard, who is known for mentoring young defensemen. The experienced Savard emphasized the importance of allowing Hutson to play to his strengths while offering guidance when needed.
Growing up idolizing players like Patrick Kane, Hutson expressed the surreal experience of now sharing the ice with his former heroes. Despite the excitement, Hutson remains focused on his debut game and hopes to make a meaningful contribution to the team.
With Jayden Struble sitting out to accommodate Hutson’s debut, the Canadiens are gearing up for an important game. Kaiden Guhle‘s absence due to injury is also a factor as the team prepares to face off against their opponents.
