Detroit Lions Vs Washington Commanders 2025 Game

DETROIT, Mich. — The Detroit Lions‘ head coach Dan Campbell acknowledged Monday that his team failed to deliver their best performance in Saturday night’s 20-17 loss to the Washington Commanders, despite outgaining their opponents in total yards.

“Credit Washington, they did what they needed to do and they played a good game,” Campbell told reporters. “But a little bit for us, when you feel like, ‘You’ve got to bring your A game,’ I think if we bring our B game, we’ve got a chance to win that game. And we didn’t bring that.”

The Lions’ five turnovers proved costly, overshadowing their statistical advantage. Campbell did not specify what grade he would assign his team’s performance, but it was clearly below the “B” level he referenced.

The Commanders capitalized on Detroit’s mistakes, securing the win despite being outplayed in several statistical categories. The two teams are scheduled to meet again during the 2025 regular season.
