Marcus Rashford Climbs Manchester United's All Time Goalscoring Charts

Manchester United‘s Marcus Rashford has climbed the club’s all-time goalscoring charts after his recent goal against Tottenham Hotspur. Rashford’s goal, which came in a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford, marked his 127th for the club and propelled him to joint-16th in the list. He surpassed club legend Brian McClair and moved one goal ahead of former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Rashford has been influential under Ole, playing 135 games and scoring 56 goals – more than any other manager. The young striker, who joined United’s Academy at the age of seven, is currently approaching his 400th appearance for the club. He has a chance to surpass the goal tallies of Academy graduates such as Phil Neville, Nicky Butt, John O’Shea, and David Beckham, who are all ahead of him in both appearances and goals.

In terms of all-time United goalscorers, Rashford still has a long way to go to reach the top. The likes of Sir Bobby Charlton, Dennis Viollet, George Best, Ryan Giggs, Mark Hughes, and Paul Scholes are all in the club’s top 10. Stan Pearson, who played before and after the Second World War, also features prominently with 148 goals in 343 appearances.

Rashford has proven to be a prolific scorer against Tottenham, with six goals in 16 appearances. Leicester City is the only team to have conceded more goals to Rashford, with eight in 16 games. As Rashford continues his ascent up the goalscoring charts, the next target on his list is Tommy Taylor, who tragically lost his life at Munich after scoring 131 goals in 191 games for United.
