Michael Bisping Talks Up Potential Conor Mcgregor Vs Paddy Pimblett Fight

Former UFC champion, Michael Bisping, has expressed his excitement for a potential fight between Conor McGregor and Paddy Pimblett. McGregor, who is set to face off against Michael Chandler on June 29 in Las Vegas, has been backed by Bisping for a strong return to the UFC.

Pimblett, on the other hand, recently claimed victory over Tony Ferguson and is eagerly awaiting the arrival of his twins. Despite the contrasting career trajectories of the two fighters, Bisping believes a match-up between them would be huge.

While acknowledging that McGregor is the pay-per-view king and the biggest star the sport has ever seen, Bisping states that he does not believe McGregor would be interested in fighting Pimblett, as the latter is still a newcomer in the UFC. However, Bisping acknowledges Pimblett’s growing popularity and highlights the potential for the fight to generate gigantic numbers.

Bisping also opines that McGregor’s team may not be actively considering a fight against Pimblett, suggesting that it would have to be at the 155 lb weight class, which McGregor is unlikely to return to anytime soon. Nonetheless, Bisping commends Pimblett for his victory over Ferguson, while advising him to work on his conditioning.

He notes that Pimblett appeared visibly tired during his fight with Ferguson, which could be attributed to nerves. Bisping emphasizes that to compete with the top fighters, Pimblett must be able to go three or even five rounds at a high pace, necessitating improved conditioning.

Bisping dismisses the notion that Pimblett’s potential weight gain would affect his performance, asserting that it was more likely due to factors such as nerves and conditioning. Bisping recognizes Pimblett’s accomplishments but suggests that McGregor’s team may not see him as a viable opponent at this time.
