ROME, Italy — Mirra Andreeva secured her spot in the fourth round of the Internazionali BNL d’Italia with a 6-1, 7-5 victory over Linda Noskova on May 11, 2025. The match lasted 83 minutes and showcased Andreeva’s resilience as she came back from a 4-2 deficit in the second set.

“I was like, ‘Please, Mirra. Do everything you can. Just don’t go into a third set,’” Andreeva joked after her match. The No. 7 seed managed to capture five of the last six games, demonstrating her ability to adjust mid-match.

“I felt like in the first set, I was playing well but she also missed a lot,” Andreeva said. “So, my No. 1 goal was just to put as many balls in the court as possible.” She explained that Noskova’s aggressive play in the second set made it tougher for her. “I tried to focus on trying to run for every ball that she sends…”

After her win, Andreeva, along with her coach Conchita Martinez, cooled down with four-time Grand Slam champion Carlos Alcaraz, who was warming up for his match against Laslo Djere. Alcaraz and Andreeva shared a light moment on the Centrale court.

“I have to thank Conchita for the fact that I can even say a couple of words,” Andreeva said about her brief interaction with Alcaraz. “He congratulated me and I just wished him luck.”

Andreeva revealed that she and Martinez have been inspired by Alcaraz’s warm-up exercises, including a juggling drill that they have already incorporated into their routine. “He has some nice exercises. We actually stole one already…” she laughed.

With her victory, Andreeva prepares to face No. 22 seed Clara Tauson in the Round of 16. The match will be a rematch from the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships final in February, where Andreeva claimed her first WTA 1000 title.
