Musetti Alcaraz Roland Garros 2025

PARIS, France — Lorenzo Musetti has reached the semifinals of the 2025 Roland Garros, becoming the first Italian man to do so in consecutive years. He achieved this milestone on June 6 by defeating American player Frances Tiafoe in a four-set match. Musetti now prepares to face defending champion Carlos Alcaraz, who also secured his spot by beating another American, Tommy Paul.

Musetti’s success on the clay courts of Paris marks his second Grand Slam semifinal of his career. The 22-year-old has been on a roll this season, consistently reaching the semifinals in every clay tournament he has participated in. This includes strong performances at the Monte Carlo Masters and the Italian Open, although he has faced Alcaraz in three matches this season, losing two.

Alcaraz, ranked No. 2 in the world, has excelled on clay, boasting 20 wins out of 21 matches this season. The 20-year-old Spaniard will be looking to extend his dominance when they meet again. Their rivalry has tilted in favor of Alcaraz, who has won five out of their six encounters; Musetti’s only clay victory came during the Hamburg final in 2022.

The semifinal at Roland Garros will be their fifth meeting on clay, adding extra tension to the matchup given their previous history, including a victory for Alcaraz in the 2023 Roland Garros.

The match will air on Eurosport, available through various streaming platforms such as SkyGo, NOW TV, and DAZN. Fans can also follow the tournament live on Sky Sport until June 8.
