LOS ANGELES, CA — Netflix debuted the first teaser trailer for Guillermo del Toro‘s highly anticipated film, Frankenstein, during its Tudum event on Saturday night. The film features Jacob Elordi as the iconic monster, alongside Oscar Isaac, Mia Goth, and Christoph Waltz.

Del Toro, an Oscar-winning director known for works like The Shape of Water, has long sought to adapt Mary Shelley‘s classic tale of life and death. This new rendition promises a blend of emotional depth and visual spectacle, raising expectations for its November release on Netflix.

The trailer showcases dazzling sets, beautiful visual effects, and intricate costumes, all hallmarks of del Toro’s cinematic style. “It’s an emotional story for me,” del Toro stated at the Cannes Film Festival. “I’m asking a question about being a father, being a son. I’m not doing a horror movie—ever.”

Frankenstein tells the story of a brilliant scientist who brings a creature to life, leading to tragic consequences for both the creator and his creation. The supporting cast includes Felix Kammerer, Lars Mikkelsen, and Ralph Ineson, among others, creating a powerhouse ensemble.

Though the film will be available on Netflix, many fans hope it will also be screened in theaters. Del Toro’s unique storytelling style often resonates deeply with audiences, making theatrical viewing a cherished experience.

Frankenstein is expected to enter the awards race, given its renowned cast and crew. As fans eagerly await the film’s premiere, one thing is clear: Del Toro’s take on this ultimate monster story promises to be a captivating viewing experience.

Frankenstein will stream on Netflix this November, with the trailer available for viewing online.
