Russell Wilson Jameis Winston New York Giants Introduction

East Rutherford, New Jersey — Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston took center stage on Monday at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center as they introduced themselves to their new New York Giants teammates.

Head coach Brian Daboll emphasized the significance of leadership among quarterbacks, noting that both Wilson and Winston have extensive experience in the NFL. “I think that’s important for the quarterback position,” Daboll said, highlighting the importance of personal stories in fostering team cohesion.

As the offseason workout program kicked off, Wilson, who trained with some of his teammates prior to the start of workouts, shared his excitement about joining the Giants. “I’m excited to be with these guys. I can’t wait to make it really special,” he said.

The Giants’ offseason program will unfold over the next nine weeks and includes strength and conditioning, installation of plays, and practices. These activities are designed to set a solid foundation for their upcoming training camp and overall season.

“Dabs ran a great meeting today,” Wilson reflected. He spoke about laying the groundwork for success while addressing the group of players. “It’s early in the process, but they understand what leadership is,” Daboll said.

Second-year tight end Theo Johnson praised Wilson’s passion for football, stating, “From our first interaction, you could tell he knows a lot of ball, and the biggest takeaway for me was just his passion.”

In addition to the quarterback duo, the Giants also made headlines this offseason with signings like cornerback Paulson Adebo and safety Jevón Holland. Both players are expected to contribute significantly on defense.

As the team continues to strengthen their connections, Wilson looks forward to building chemistry with his new teammates. “The most important part to the offseason is the bond and relationships,” he added.

Looking ahead, the Giants face a busy week with the NFL Draft on Thursday and potential roster changes coming soon.
