Newport County Faces Kidderminster Harriers in Pre-Season Match

Newport County is gearing up for their pre-season match against Kidderminster Harriers tomorrow afternoon at Aggborough, kick-off at 2pm. The Exiles are looking to secure their first victory in three matches, having suffered narrow defeats against Barry Town United and Bristol City recently.

On the opposite side, Phil Brown, an experienced manager who took the reins at Kidderminster in January, will lead the team. Brown has had a long career in football, both as a player and manager, and is known for his tenure at Hull City, where he guided the team to the Premier League.

Under Brown’s leadership, Kidderminster has experienced a mixed bag of results, with a record of seven wins, five draws, and six losses in 18 games. The goal for Brown when he joined the club was to steer them clear of relegation, which they unfortunately could not achieve.

This summer, Kidderminster has been busy in the transfer market, aiming to reinforce their squad to challenge for promotion back to the Vanarama National League. Notable signings include David Davis, a former Wolverhampton Wanderers and Birmingham City midfielder who joined on a free transfer, and young winger Maliq Cadogan, who signed on loan from Swansea City.

Davis brings a wealth of experience to the midfield, having made over 250 appearances in previous clubs. Cadogan is expected to add flair and versatility to the team with his capability to play on both wings.

Another key player for Kidderminster is Ashley Hemmings, a talented forward who has been with the club for some time now. With over 180 appearances and 58 goals, Hemmings is a crucial part of the team’s attack.

The last time Newport County faced Kidderminster was in 2013 during the FA Cup third round, where they lost 4-2. Fans are excited to see if Newport can turn the tide this time around.

For those planning to attend the match, it’s important to note that tickets must be purchased in advance, as there is no cash payment option at the turnstiles. Tickets can be bought online until just 15 minutes after kick-off, but away fans cannot buy tickets at the Ticket Office on match day.
