Notorious Bandits Leader Dogo Gide Succumbs To Gunshot Wounds In Confrontation With Nigerian Troops

A notorious bandit leader, Dogo Gide, succumbed to gunshot wounds during a confrontation with Nigerian troops in the Maru local government area, specifically in the challenging terrain of Madada forest. The operation was carried out by Operation Hadarin Daji forces of the Nigerian Army.

Reports indicate that Dogo Gide, who had ties to significant terrorist organizations like ANSARU, was ultimately taken to a hospital in Mabera, Sokoto, after sustaining critical injuries. His demise followed the clash with Operation Hadarin Daji forces.

Imran Muhammad, in an official statement, highlighted that the incident occurred on March 12, 2024, marking a significant development in the fight against banditry in the region.

The successful elimination of Dogo Gide showcases the collaborative efforts of 1 Division and 8 Division of the Nigerian Army, demonstrating a commendable achievement in the ongoing security operations in the country.

Before his demise, Dogo Gide and his associates were attempting to establish a stronghold in the region, but airstrikes by the Nigerian Armed Forces dealt a significant blow to their operations, destroying their camp.

In a related development, the 7 Division of the Nigerian Army based in Maiduguri carried out a rescue operation in Borno State, freeing 78 individuals, including 35 women and 43 children who were held captive by terrorists. This highlights the continuous efforts of the Nigerian security forces in combatting insurgency and banditry.
