Pierce Brosnan Pleads Not Guilty to Trespassing Charges at Yellowstone National Park
Renowned actor Pierce Brosnan, celebrated for his roles in films like James Bond and Mamma Mia!, has recently pleaded not guilty to charges of trespassing at Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming.
The incident occurred on November 1, 2023, when Brosnan allegedly ventured out of bounds and entered a restricted area within the park. Reportedly, he was walking near Mammoth Hot Springs, known for its dangerously hot water which is close to boiling point, prompting strict regulations against trespassing.
If found guilty, Brosnan could face imprisonment, fines, or even a potential ban from the park. Violating several closures that the park had implemented near the Wyoming-Montana border, his actions carry serious consequences.
Represented by his lawyer Karl Knuchel, Brosnan submitted documents to the U.S. District Court of Wyoming on January 4 expressing his plea of not guilty to the charges.
The trial was initially scheduled for January 23, but Brosnan requested a rescheduling for a status conference, which was subsequently set for February 20 by the U.S. magistrate judge.
Prior to the hearing, both the prosecution and defense attorneys will have an ordered meeting to exchange information on the case and potentially explore a resolution outside of court.
