Quinta Brunson Snl Musical Guest Benson Boone

NEW YORK, NY – “Saturday Night Live” returns to NBC this weekend with its host Quinta Brunson, star of “Abbott Elementary,” as part of its 50th anniversary season. Brunson, who previously hosted the show two years ago, will be joined by musical guest Benson Boone on May 3.

Boone, known for his single “Sorry I’m Here for Someone Else,” is set to release his album titled “American Heart” on June 20, adding excitement to SNL’s lineup. During her brief stint as host, Brunson showcased her musical talent with humorous lyrics that celebrated her stature.

Brunson’s monologue launched the night, where she humorously invited viewers to look down for superstars, teasing her own height of 4’11”. She also featured a surprise appearance by actress Sabrina Carpenter, who joined her on stage for a fun duet about their perspectives on life.

Other notable cameos included basketball hall-of-famer Dwyane Wade and SNL regular Kenan Thompson, who partnered with Brunson for several sketches. In one sketch titled “OnlySeniors,” Brunson and Thompson humorously depicted aging parents discussing life insurance with their children.

In a comedic sketch featuring a ferry, cast member Mikey Day took a ride with his daughter, performed by Chloe Fineman, creating laughs with their parking mishaps. Colin Jost made an unexpected appearance in a Hawaiian shirt, further adding to the silliness of the episode.

The episode also included a sketch about women’s fashion dilemmas as summer approaches. Brunson and Fineman humorously debated whether to embrace youthful styles or adopt a more mature wardrobe.

Boone didn’t just captivate with his humor; his musical performances also energized the evening. After an animated introduction by Brunson, he performed his hit songs in vibrant attire, further establishing his presence on the SNL stage. This episode marks Boone’s debut on the iconic show.

For the 50th season finale on May 17, film star Scarlett Johansson will take the helm as host, accompanied by musical guest Bad Bunny, promising an exciting close to the season. SNL continues to delight audiences every Saturday night on NBC with diverse hosts and engaging performances.
