Raiders’ Logo Dance Leads to Stinging Loss Against Chiefs

Kansas City, MO — Before a crucial late-season game, the Las Vegas Raiders made headlines for dancing on the Kansas City Chiefs‘ midfield logo during warm-ups. The incident took place ahead of their matchup on December 1, when the Raiders boasted a 6-6 record against the 8-4 Chiefs.
The video of the Raiders’ warm-up festivities quickly went viral, further fueled by the Chiefs delivering a humiliating defeat, winning 48-9. Initially, Chiefs fans expressed anger at the Raiders’ antics, but the act seemed to serve as motivation for the home team.
Years later, former Raiders running back Josh Jacobs reflected on the moment during an appearance on the podcast Bussin’ With the Boys. He admitted he had opposed the decision to dance on the logo, saying, “I told them ‘Do not do that s–t. It’s dumb. We are their stepbrothers.’”
Jacobs noted the Raiders had not achieved enough victories over the Chiefs to warrant such bravado. “We ain’t beat them enough to reserve that right. We’re not even winning enough to deserve that right to go do that,” he said. He stayed back during the warm-up, predicting the backlash if the team failed to win. “If you’re gonna do that, you better stand on s–t,” he added, expressing his disappointment after the loss.
The Chiefs’ dominant victory saw the Raiders scoring just nine points, with their only touchdowns coming in the second and third quarters. They trailed 35-3 at halftime, underscoring the gap in performance. The previous season, the Raiders celebrated a win at Arrowhead, creating a stark contrast to their subsequent defeat.
Following the game, Chiefs fans enjoyed a playful jab by playing music over the speakers, further driving home the point of their victory. Jacobs’ acknowledgment of the foolishness of dancing on an opponent’s logo highlights the respect teams should have for their rivals, regardless of past outcomes.
