RANGERS Football Club secured the signing of striker Hamza Igamane, pending international clearance. Igamane, a young talent from AS FAR in Morocco, joins a list of notable signings by the club under the management of Philippe Clement.

Having represented his country at the under-23 level, Igamane expressed eagerness to contribute to Rangers, acknowledging the club’s rich history and fan base. Clement, excited about Igamane’s potential, expects the young forward to add a fresh dynamic to the team’s attacking strength.

Director of Football Recruitment, Nils Koppen, emphasized Igamane’s energy and skill, predicting further development within the club.

However, a recent turn of events saw Igamane omitted from the Moroccan Olympic squad, as confirmed by manager Tarik Sektioui. Alongside Igamane, eight other players from prominent European clubs, including Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, were also denied permission to participate in the Olympics.

This decision by clubs like Rangers aligns with FIFA regulations, which do not mandate player release for the Olympic Games, citing it as a non-official international football window.

Sektioui expressed disappointment over the lack of player availability due to club restrictions, highlighting the challenges faced by their Football Association in assembling a competitive squad for the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris.
