Rangers Sign Vaclav Cerny on Loan from Wolfsburg
Rangers Football Club is buzzing with excitement as they announce the signing of Václav Černy on a season-long loan from VfL Wolfsburg. This move is pending international clearance, but it’s a big step for the club ahead of the 2024/25 season.
The 26-year-old winger, who recently showcased his skills at Euro 2024 in Germany playing for the Czech Republic, is the latest addition to Phil Clement’s squad.
Černy began his footballing journey at his local club FC Pribram before moving to Ajax in 2014, where he honed his skills. After spending time with clubs like Utrecht and FC Twente, he joined VfL Wolfsburg last summer and made quite an impression scoring five goals in various competitions.
Expressing his joy about joining Rangers, Černy said, “It is a very nice day for me. I am happy to be here and I can’t wait to get started.” He highlighted how positive his initial talks with the manager felt and how fast things progressed from there.
Philippe Clement, the manager of Rangers, shared his thoughts on the new signing, saying, “I am delighted to welcome Václav to the squad. He is an exciting player with valuable experience in European football.” He believes Černy’s attacking flair will boost the team’s options this season.
Nils Koppen, the Director of Football Recruitment at Rangers, also welcomed Černy, noting the hard work that went into bringing in talented players into the squad. He described Černy as a winger who’s already made contributions in top leagues across Europe.
