Reba Mcentire Brooks Dunn Las Vegas Performance

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Country music legend Reba McEntire recently reminisced about her unforgettable Las Vegas residency with Brooks & Dunn, a trio that captivated audiences night after night during the mid-2010s. The performances, which included hits like “Cowgirls Don’t Cry,” remain a highlight of McEntire’s storied career.

From 2015 to 2017, McEntire joined forces with Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn for the “Reba, Brooks & Dunn: Together in Vegas” residency at Caesars Palace. The shows were a masterclass in country music, blending heartfelt ballads with high-energy performances. One standout moment was their rendition of “Cowgirls Don’t Cry,” a song that took on new life when McEntire joined the duo on stage.

“You can’t have a song about a cowgirl without an honest-to-goodness cowgirl singing along with you,” McEntire said during a 2019 interview. Her powerful vocals and emotional delivery added a unique depth to the track, which originally appeared on Brooks & Dunn’s 2008 album, “Cowboy Town.” The re-recorded version featuring McEntire peaked at No. 2 on the Hot Country Songs chart.

McEntire also shared humorous anecdotes about her time performing with the duo, particularly their on-stage banter. “When we first started out, I said, ‘Okay, here is what you’re going to say, and here is what you’re going to say, and then I’ll say…,'” she recalled. “And they go ‘Uh-huh. Yeah.’ We get out there and I say my little part and I look at them and… crickets. They’re gonna say what they want to say, and I just kind of follow along.”

Despite the challenges of keeping up with Brooks & Dunn’s quick wit, McEntire praised their chemistry and professionalism. “They are so good at it. I can’t dish it back,” she admitted with a laugh. However, her time on “The Voice” in recent years has proven she can hold her own in any setting.

The residency not only solidified McEntire’s status as a country music icon but also showcased her ability to connect with audiences on a deeply personal level. Fans who attended the shows often describe them as unforgettable, with McEntire’s performances leaving a lasting impression.

As McEntire continues to tour and release new music, her Las Vegas residency with Brooks & Dunn remains a cherished chapter in her career. For fans of country music, it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that celebrated the genre’s rich history and enduring appeal.
