Referee Brace To Officiate Scotland vs England Calcutta Cup Clash at Murrayfield
Welsh-born referee Andrew Brace is set to take charge of the upcoming historic Calcutta Cup clash between Scotland and England at Murrayfield.
Brace, representing the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU), brings a unique background, having grown up between Wales and Ireland and serving as a former community officer for Munster.
Interestingly, Brace also has international playing experience, having represented Belgium in rugby, a qualification he gained through his family ties.
Debuting in the Pro 14 in 2015, Brace transitioned to officiating test matches within a couple of years, showcasing his rapid rise in the refereeing world.
In 2020, Brace had the honor of refereeing both the Pro 14 final and the Autumn Nations Cup decider between England and France at Twickenham, solidifying his reputation on the big stage.
Joining Brace on the officiating team for the Calcutta Cup clash at Murrayfield are his assistants Chris Busby and Eoghan Cross, with experienced South African Marius Jonker holding the role of TMO.
With Scotland seeking their fourth consecutive Calcutta Cup win, and England aiming to keep their Six Nations campaign alive with a victory, all eyes will be on Murrayfield this weekend.
