Santa Fe Aims for Playoff Spot Against Deportivo Cali

VALLEDUPAR, Colombia – Santa Fe will face Deportivo Cali on Saturday, May 17 at 6 PM as they seek to secure a spot in the tournament playoffs. A draw in their upcoming away games will be sufficient for Santa Fe to qualify, but they aim for a victory in Palmaseca.
Santa Fe has collected 13 points during their away matches, winning four, drawing one, and losing three. They have scored 11 goals while conceding seven. They must perform well on the road after losing to Alianza in Valledupar, which has put them on the brink of a third consecutive elimination.
“For the first time, we don’t depend on ourselves. What we can control is that we need to earn points in both matches, ideally three each,” said coach Alfredo Arias.
Elvis Perlaza, who was sidelined with a shoulder injury since March, returns to the lineup. Coach Jorge Bava commented, “He has been training well with the team. We felt it was important for him to gain more training after his long absence.” Santa Fe’s performance has suffered without Perlaza’s offensive contributions.
At home, Santa Fe remains unbeaten with four wins and five draws, having scored ten goals while allowing only four. The team lineup against Deportivo Cali will include Mosquera, Meléndez, Moreno, Scarpeta, Mafla, Torres, D. Torres, Murillo, Y. Perlaza, Rodallega, and Zapata.
