Shropshire Native Sarah Griffiths Joins Big Brother Cast
Sarah Griffiths, a native of Shrewsbury, is set to represent Shropshire as one of the contestants in this year’s edition of the reality television series Big Brother. The show, which airs on ITV2, commenced its latest series as of October 7th.
The 27-year-old, who works as a spa account manager, describes herself in her introductory video as a “posh totty hottie.” In a light-hearted tone, Griffiths shared insights into her upbringing, stating, “I grew up on a chicken farm and I think being an egg would actually be quite a nice life, because you’re either getting smashed or getting laid,” she joked.
Griffiths also mentioned her active involvement with her local young farmer’s club, humorously noting their fondness for making shirts with slogans such as, “Wellies off, willies in. Farmer born, farmer bred, couldn’t attract a better in bed.” “Sorry mum,” she added, acknowledging the cheeky nature of her remarks.
Regarding her participation in the Big Brother house, Griffiths expressed her main concern: “I’ve got the patience of a boiling kettle. It takes one tiny thing for me to blow.” Nonetheless, she asserted her readiness to rise to the challenges, stating, “Big Brother has never had someone that will roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty, and that’s what I’m here to do. So get ready to get dirty, Big Brother.”
Griffiths is not the first Shropshire resident to appear on Big Brother. She follows in the footsteps of Craig Phillips, a former Newport resident who became a Big Brother icon after winning the inaugural series in 2000. Phillips, originally from Liverpool, donated his prize money to Jo Harris, a Shropshire girl with Down syndrome. Other participants from the county include Freddie Fisher from Market Drayton and Kris Donnelly from Shrewsbury, who featured in the show’s tenth season.
