Stephen Curry Cleared for Light Workouts Amid Hamstring Injury Recovery

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Stephen Curry has been cleared for shooting drills and light on-court workouts despite a strained left hamstring. This development gives him a chance to return if the Golden State Warriors push a Game 6 against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Warriors announced Wednesday that Curry is ‘making good progress’ in his recovery from the injury sustained in the first game of their second-round playoff series. As they prepare for a crucial Game 5 without him, the team remains hopeful for his return.
If the Warriors win Game 5, Curry is set to be reevaluated on Saturday, a day before Game 6 in San Francisco. The three-day break between these games allows him additional time to heal. However, he has already been ruled out for the fourth consecutive game as per the official injury report released on Tuesday.
Curry’s hamstring strain marks his first such injury and has compounded the Warriors’ challenges this playoff season, during which several star players have faced injuries. The absence of their star guard has made it difficult for the Warriors to space the floor and generate consistent scoring.
In the series, the Warriors are averaging 17 turnovers per game and shooting just 36% from beyond the arc. Starting guard Klay Thompson has struggled significantly, going 9-for-40 from the floor, including 3-for-17 from three-point range, resulting in only 30 points across the first four games.
