Student Arrested for Threats Against Michigan State University

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – An 18-year-old woman has been arrested for making threats toward Michigan State University (MSU) on Wednesday. Police identified and contacted the suspect at 2:52 p.m. on Chestnut Road.

The female student, whose identity has not been disclosed, is now in custody at the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office facing possible felony charges regarding the anonymous threats. State authorities are investigating the full details surrounding these threats, which are currently unclear.

In a statement, MSU Police indicated there is no ongoing threat to the campus or community. They are encouraging anyone with additional information about the incident to reach out at 517-355-2221.

This incident occurs just weeks after memorials were held to mark the second anniversary of a shooting on MSU’s campus, which tragically left three individuals dead and several others wounded.
