No Supplemental Security Income Check on December 1: Here’s Why and When to Expect Payments
Supplemental Security Income (SSI) beneficiaries will not receive their usual payment on December 1, 2024, due to the date falling on a Sunday. According to the payment schedule, SSI payments are not issued on weekends or holidays. As a result, the December SSI payments were sent out on Friday, November 29, 2024.
This adjustment means that SSI beneficiaries received two payments in November: the regular November payment and the advance payment for December. This is a standard practice when the first day of the month falls on a weekend or holiday.
For those who are also receiving Retirement, Survivors, and Disability Insurance (RSDI) benefits, the payment dates in December 2024 will follow the usual schedule based on the beneficiary’s birthdate. Specifically, RSDI payments will be made on December 13 for birthdates between the 1st and 10th, on December 20 for birthdates between the 11th and 20th, and on December 27 for birthdates between the 21st and 31st.
