LOS ANGELES, March 3, 2025 — Sylvester Stallone stars in the action thriller ‘Armor’, set to stream for free on Tubi starting March 31, 2025. Released in November 2024, the film tells the story of a crew of thieves attempting to break into an armored truck but has been met with critical disdain, earning an unprecedented 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Directed by Justin Routt and inspired by a screenplay from Cory Todd Hughes and Adrian Speckert, ‘Armor’ features a talented cast including Jason Patric, Dash Mihok, Josh Wiggins, Blake Shields, Erin Ownbey, and Stallone himself. Critics have universally panned the film, leading to its categorization as a cinematic anomaly.

In the film, Stallone plays James, an armored truck driver who finds himself in a life-or-death situation when he and his son, Casey, played by Wiggins, are ambushed while delivering a suspicious package. Their determination to survive leads them to discover the true value of their cargo and rally against formidable attackers. “Academy Award Nominee Sylvester Stallone and Jason Patric star in an action-packed thriller about the lengths one man will go to save what’s left of his family and reclaim his own life,” reads the official synopsis.

Despite the star power and a premise that piques interest, critics have not held back their harsh assessments. Dennis Harvey of Variety wrote, “Neither its staging nor its performances transcend the limitations of Adrian Speckert and Cory Todd Hughes’ script, leaving mediocre material unredeemed by any special thrills, style, or character detailing.” Glenn Kenny of RogerEbert.com gave the film 1 out of 4 stars stating, “Even at its relatively trim 89-minute runtime, ‘Armor’ feels padded.”

Aidan Kelley of Screen Rant rated ‘Armor’ a disappointing 3 out of 10 and lamented its place among recent cinematic failures. He compared it negatively to other poorly received films such as ‘The Crow’ and ‘Borderlands’, noting, “Where Lionsgate’s other ill-fated action ventures might be remembered as examples of what not to do, ‘Armor’ may not even be remembered at all.”

This isn’t the first time Stallone has faced disappointment with critical reviews for his projects. ‘Armor’ joins the ranks of previous films that have also received a 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. However, Stallone remains undeterred and will soon have another chance for redemption with Season 3 of his acclaimed series ‘Tulsa King‘ in the works.

As ‘Armor’ gears up for free streaming, viewers may find themselves intrigued to see how the film garnered such a low rating, and whether the action and performances lend themselves to a guilty pleasure experience.
