Tamim Iqbal Lauds Arshdeep Singh’s Performance as India Clinches Victory Against Bangladesh
Arshdeep Singh, the emerging talent from India, has been receiving noteworthy recognition following his performance in the recent T20 International against Bangladesh. The match, held at the New Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior, witnessed India securing a seven-wicket victory, largely attributed to the 25-year-old’s impressive bowling spell.
The left-arm pacer successfully picked up three crucial wickets, which included the dismissals of Litton Das, Parvez Hossain Emon, and Mustafizur Rahman. This performance earned him the Player of the Match award. Tamim Iqbal, a prominent figure in Bangladesh’s cricketing scene, praised Arshdeep, emphasizing that the bowler doesn’t often receive the accolades he deserves.
“The last over he bowled was unbelievable,” Tamim Iqbal commented to the broadcasters after the match. He further added, “People talk about overs bowled by others, but nobody talked about his over. His over was very crucial.” Tamim highlighted Arshdeep’s ability to bowl sensibly without resorting to excessive variation, acknowledging his awareness of his own capabilities. “He doesn’t go out of his limits and he knows what he can and can’t do,” Tamim remarked.
Arshdeep’s contributions were particularly highlighted during the final over of Bangladesh’s innings, where he only conceded three runs and took the wicket of Mustafizur Rahman on his last ball. His disciplined approach has been viewed favorably by cricket analysts.
Tamim Iqbal, regarded as one of Bangladesh’s leading run-scorers in international cricket, also asserted that Arshdeep Singh should continue to be part of India’s playing XI, even when established bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj are available for selection. This endorsement signifies a growing recognition of Arshdeep’s role and potential in the Indian cricket team.
