Tennessee Continues Domination Over South Carolina In Sec Matchup

The fifth-ranked Tennessee Volunteers will face off against the South Carolina Gamecocks in a highly anticipated Southeastern Conference matchup. The Volunteers have had the upper hand in their recent meetings, having won the last five games against South Carolina. In fact, Tennessee has dominated the Gamecocks, winning 10 out of their last 11 matchups since Jan. 20, 2018.

The Gamecocks, however, are determined to break the streak and secure their fourth consecutive victory. They have been performing well on the road this season, boasting a 3-2 record away from home. On the other hand, the Volunteers have been undefeated on their home court, with a perfect 10-0 record.

The game will take place at the Food City Center in Knoxville, Tennessee, and is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. ET.

Both teams have been solid on the offensive end, with South Carolina averaging 73.2 points per game and Tennessee averaging 79.5 points per game. As the home team, the Volunteers are heavily favored, with the latest odds from SportsLine consensus listing them as 13.5-point favorites. The over/under for total points scored in the game is set at 135.5.

For Tennessee, the key player to watch is fifth-year senior guard Knecht. He has been on fire recently, becoming the SEC‘s first player to score 32 or more points in three games out of four since 2007. Knecht is averaging 19.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game this season.

Another key contributor for the Volunteers is junior guard, who is averaging 10.2 points, 5.1 assists, and 2.4 rebounds per game. He had a strong performance in the team’s recent win against Vanderbilt, scoring 10 points and dishing out six assists.

On the South Carolina side, junior guard Johnson has been leading the team in scoring, averaging 15.7 points per game. He has reached the 20-point mark six times this season, including a 24-point performance in the SEC opener.

Senior forward Mack, who joined South Carolina this season after transferring from Wofford, is also playing a significant role with his scoring and rebounding abilities. He is averaging 13.9 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.

SportsLine’s model predicts a high-scoring game, with a projected total of 139 combined points. The model also suggests that there may be value in betting on one side of the spread.

Overall, the matchup between Tennessee and South Carolina promises to be an exciting showdown between two competitive SEC teams. Will the Volunteers continue their dominance over the Gamecocks, or will South Carolina finally break the streak? Fans will have to tune in to find out.
