Detroit Tigers Game Against St. Louis Cardinals

ST. LOUIS, Missouri – The Detroit Tigers are set to continue their road trip with a three-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals starting Monday. This marks the second series of their current road swing after a successful weekend where they won two out of three games against the Toronto Blue Jays.

On Sunday, the Tigers secured a narrow victory against the Blue Jays, aided by a remarkable performance from Spencer Torkleson. With this win, the Tigers have built a two-game lead over the Cleveland Guardians and a five-game lead in the American League Central Division.

Despite their success, the Tigers face challenges due to injuries, particularly with starting pitcher Casey Mize, who is out with a tweaked left hamstring. As a result, the team has not yet named a starter for Monday’s game but is expected to use a bullpen approach, with Keider Montero likely involved.

On the opposing side, the Cardinals will start veteran pitcher Sonny Gray, who has a record of 4-1 and a 4.50 ERA. The game is set to start at 7:45 p.m. ET at Busch Stadium.

The Tigers’ performance continues to raise questions about their ability to maintain their early lead as they navigate these roster challenges.
