FRISCO, Texas — Montana State quarterback Tommy Mellott, a standout from Butte, Montana, will cap his collegiate career in the FCS championship game against North Dakota State on Monday, Jan. 6, 2025. Mellott, who has led the Bobcats to a perfect 15-0 season, aims to secure the program’s first national title in 40 years.
Mellott burst onto the scene as a freshman in 2021, rushing for 180 yards and two touchdowns in his first playoff game. Since then, he has evolved into a dual-threat quarterback, completing 68.8% of his passes for 2,564 yards and 29 touchdowns this season, while adding 915 rushing yards and 14 scores. His growth has been instrumental in Montana State’s dominant run.
