Tony Dalton Returns as The Swordsman in Daredevil: Born Again

LOS ANGELES, CA — Tony Dalton is set to reprise his role as Jack Duquesne, also known as The Swordsman, in the upcoming Disney+ series “Daredevil: Born Again.” According to Variety, Dalton will appear in two episodes of the highly anticipated series, which is scheduled to premiere on March 4, 2025.
Dalton’s return in “Daredevil: Born Again” aligns with recent rumors that the character might be making a comeback. The series aims to reintroduce several beloved street-level characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and is expected to include other familiar faces from Netflix’s “Daredevil” and “The Punisher,” heightening excitement among Marvel fans.
First introduced in the 2021 series “Hawkeye,” Dalton’s portrayal of Duquesne presented a unique twist on the character’s comic origins. His character was initially engaged to Kate Bishop‘s mother, Eleanor Bishop, played by Vera Farmiga. Duquesne appeared to take on a villainous role, having been framed for the murder of his uncle and stealing the sword that once belonged to the original Hawkeye, portrayed by Jeremy Renner. However, the ending of “Hawkeye” revealed Eleanor as the mastermind behind the plot, in collaboration with Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, played by Vincent D'Onofrio.
Since the conclusion of “Hawkeye,” fans have been eagerly waiting for any news of Duquesne’s return until now. With D’Onofrio reprising his role as Kingpin, Dalton’s inclusion in “Daredevil: Born Again” makes narrative sense, as the show will delve into darker themes and elaborate character arcs.
In addition to Dalton and D’Onofrio, the series will see the return of Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, and Wilson Bethel as Bullseye. Jon Bernthal will also return as Frank Castle, known as The Punisher, further enhancing the show’s connection to the Netflix series.
Dalton’s journey in the entertainment industry includes a successful career in Spanish-language film and television, but his breakout role came as the villainous Lalo Salamanca in AMC’s “Better Call Saul.” He has since established himself in Hollywood, with the upcoming action thriller “Trap House,” starring alongside Dave Bautista and Bobby Cannavale. The film is produced by Signature Films and Scott Free Productions.
Dalton is represented by Gilbertson Entertainment, the Gersh Agency, and Yorn, Levine, Barnes, Krintzman, Rubenstein, Kohner, Endlich, Goodell & Gellman. Fans are eager to see how The Swordsman will navigate the intense narrative landscape of “Daredevil: Born Again,” and how Dalton will portray him on screen.
