Tottenham In Talks To Sign Norwegian Winger Antonio Nusa

Tottenham Hotspur has initiated negotiations with Club Brugge over a potential deal to acquire the highly sought-after 18-year-old Norwegian winger, Antonio Nusa. As one of the most promising young talents, Brugge is reportedly demanding a fee of £25m and hopes to secure a loan agreement for Nusa until the end of the season.

Nusa’s exceptional performances have attracted interest from several clubs, including Chelsea and Brentford. However, Spurs have been diligently monitoring his progress and have taken significant steps to position themselves as favorites to secure his signature.

A prolific player for Brugge this season, Nusa made his international debut for Norway in September, scoring in their 6-0 victory over Jordan. He also gained recognition as the second-youngest goalscorer in Champions League history, finding the net against Porto at just 17 years and 149 days old.

Capable of playing on the left, as well as on the right or in a central position, Nusa’s versatility adds value to Tottenham’s squad. This month, Spurs have already made notable signings, including the Romanian defender Radu Dragusin and the German forward Timo Werner on loan.

It is worth noting that Tottenham loaned out Ivan Perisic to Hajduk Split until the end of the season. Perisic, a former academy player, has reached the end of his contract with the club. As the January transfer window draws to a close, Tottenham remains open to further strengthening their squad, with particular attention to securing a central midfielder due to uncertainty around the future of Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg.

The timing of Tottenham’s next game, the FA Cup fourth-round tie against Manchester City on January 26, raises questions about the availability of key players. Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr are away for the Africa Cup of Nations, while James Maddison and Giovani Lo Celso are nursing injuries. Therefore, Hojbjerg’s participation in the upcoming match is crucial. However, the club will assess their options before the window closes, evaluating the availability of their players and weighing the possibility of letting Hojbjerg go if a suitable replacement can be brought in.

While interest in Hojbjerg has been expressed by Juventus, Napoli, and several Premier League clubs, Tottenham is not willing to accept any discounted offers for the midfielder. With 18 months remaining on his contract, any potential deal would require an obligation to buy, as a loan agreement is currently off the table.
