Golden State Warriors Starting Lineup 2025

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Golden State Warriors, once a dominant force in the Western Conference, are now fighting to stay afloat in the playoff race. With a 21-21 record after 42 games, the team sits in 11th place, a far cry from their 12-3 start earlier this season. On Wednesday, they face a red-hot Sacramento Kings team, winners of 10 of their last 11 games, in a critical divisional matchup.

The Warriors’ struggles have been compounded by a series of injuries to key players, including Draymond Green, Jonathan Kuminga, Brandin Podziemski, and Kyle Anderson. Head coach Steve Kerr has been forced to experiment with his lineup, unveiling a new starting five for Wednesday’s game: Steph Curry, Buddy Hield, Andrew Wiggins, Gary Payton II, and Kevon Looney.

This marks the 25th different starting lineup the Warriors have used this season, highlighting Kerr’s ongoing search for consistency. Payton and Looney have each started just five games this season, while Hield has started 10. Hield, who joined the Warriors earlier this season, has averaged 14.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.6 three-pointers in his 10 starts.

“We need a spark,” Kerr said ahead of the game. “This lineup gives us a chance to compete against a very tough opponent.”

The Kings, meanwhile, have been on a tear, winning four straight against the Warriors. Sacramento’s dynamic offense, led by De'Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis, poses a significant challenge for Golden State’s reshuffled lineup.

The Warriors’ playoff hopes hinge on their ability to turn things around quickly. With the trade deadline looming, the team may need to make additional moves to bolster their roster. For now, all eyes are on Wednesday’s game, where the Warriors will look to avoid falling further behind in the standings.
