Wyndham Clark Becomes Owner in Groundbreaking Grass League Initiative

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Professional golfer Wyndham Clark has been announced as the owner of the San Diego Munis, one of the 11 new teams in the innovative Grass League, the world’s first par-3-only tournament circuit. The league, which debuted in late 2024, offers increased stakes for amateur players.
The Grass League recently revealed its ownership lineup, featuring a diverse group of teams competing across the United States. Each team’s roster consists of eight players divided into four two-man scramble teams, which allows them to vie for sizable payouts in each event.
Clark’s San Diego Munis previously competed at the 2024 Troon Access Grass League Championship, where players Hayden Wood and Braden Bailey achieved a tie for 12th place with a 13-under-par score. Following their solid performance, Clark’s team is poised to make a strong run for a top 10 finish this upcoming season.
“We are excited about the potential of the Grass League and the unique format it brings to the game of golf,” Clark stated in a press release. “Our aim is to create an engaging experience for both players and fans while elevating the amateur game to new heights.”
The Grass League’s tournaments will see each franchise score points based on their standings at each event, with individual prize purses guaranteed to surpass $100,000. The total payout for each franchise will be determined by their end-of-season position.
The newly established franchises include the Canada Hat Tricks, Dallas Horsemen, Hollywood Hitters, Los Angeles Roses, Michigan Auto Aces, Minnesota Muskies, New York Blue Birds, Phoenix United, San Diego Munis, Scottsdale Strikers, and Tampa Bay Swamp Dawgs. Each team represents a regional identity, adding a competitive edge to every event.
As the league prepares for its inaugural season, excitement continues to build among fans and players alike, looking forward to a fresh take on golf’s competitive landscape.
